A Louisiana public license tag agent with more than one office must file a $125,000 bond with the Office of Motor Vehicles. Ours is $1,250 flat — the price you see is the checkout price, identical for every agent. A quick soft credit check may apply — never a hard inquiry — e-signed in 1–2 business days.

Your OMV contract is waiting on this bond. Here's the entire process — no broker phone tag:
Business details, your offices, effective date. That is the application — the only extra step is a one-time consent to a soft credit pull.
Most of these clear quickly; if underwriting needs anything, you hear from an underwriter within 48 hours. The credit check is a soft pull that never affects your score.
Pay online and receive the executed bond ready to file with OMV. Wet-ink originals mailed whenever the office insists.
A Louisiana public license tag agent contracts with the Office of Motor Vehicles to process vehicle registrations, titles, and plate transactions for the public. Under La. R.S. 47:532.1, a tag agent (other than a local government or state agency) must execute a surety bond naming the OMV as obligee.
The bond is conditioned on the agent timely filing all applications it takes in, and timely remitting all fees and taxes it collects, to the OMV. If the agent collects public money and fails to deliver the applications, fees, or taxes, the state can recover against the bond.
The amount is set by statute by the number of offices: $100,000 for an agent with a single office, and $125,000 for an agent with more than one office. This page is the $125,000 multi-office bond. If the surety pays a claim, you repay the surety.
These are the actual underwriting fields, including a one-time consent to a soft credit pull. Submit once and your bond is typically issued within 1–2 business days.
