The awarded lessee will farm designated crop fields at Harry "Babe" Woodyard State Natural Area according to a six-year cropping plan (2027–2032) that rotates corn, soybeans, sunflowers, wheat, and cover crops. The lessee must provide all labor, machinery, seed, fertilizer, and equipment; comply with soil health and conservation requirements; apply nitrogen to sunflower fields at 90 lbs/acre; plant Clearfield or ExpressSun sunflowers at 29,000 seeds/acre by May 1; and follow detailed restrictions including a ban on neonicotinoid-treated soybean seed and Dicamba. The lessee must also document chemical and fertilizer applications, submit yield monitor data, and pay all leasehold taxes. Additional services in lieu of cash payments may be approved.
