ROMO 326235 Rehabilitate Kawuneeche Visitor Center

The work includes rehabilitating the approximately 5,000 SF slab on grade wood-framed historic Kawuneeche Visitor Center (KVC) with new electrical, plumbing, telecommunications, ventilation and climate control systems, fire suppression, and fire alarm system. The building consists of three nodes: Node 1 (Administrative Wing) with improved building envelope, new windows, and reconfigured restrooms; Node 2 (Visitor Center) with salvaged and reinstalled historic wood-slat ceiling, new interior finishes, and UV film on storefront windows; Node 3 (Comfort Station) with new plumbing fixtures, interior finishes, and restored flat roof. Exterior improvements include regrading for ABAAS compliance, parking lot repaving, and improvements to site gathering/seating areas/wayfinding. The base bid also includes provisions for temporary relocation of building occupants, including trailer and furniture rental, two container rentals, installation of temporary utilities, and packing and moving of furniture. The project is to be constructed under a single prime contract, with work conducted in one phase.
