T.C.A. § 8-16-104 requires every notary public, before entering office, to give a $10,000 surety bond payable to the state, conditioned on the faithful discharge of the notary’s duties, filed with and reviewed by the county clerk. The bond runs the four-year term of the appointment. E&O coverage is separate and optional — this bond does not include it.
