Under R.S. 17:3141.9, a Louisiana proprietary school may supply the solicitor bond itself, as a blanket bond covering each of its agents at $1,000 apiece — rather than having every recruiter post an individual $1,000 bond. It’s the same protection, filed once.
The bond is continuous, filed with the commissioner of higher education, and conditioned to indemnify any student who suffers a loss from fraud or misrepresentation a covered solicitor used to procure enrollment. Each of the school’s agents draws on the same blanket coverage.
