A transporter hauls special fuel by truck, rail, or barge into, out of, or across Indiana — and the Department of Revenue can require a bond under IC 6-6-2.5-44 tied to that license. The commissioner sets the amount; pricing starts from $100, and your exact price appears at the application.

No underwriting queue for the standard special fuel bond — enter your amount, pay, and file with the Department of Revenue. Here is the whole thing:
Your business details, the bond amount the DOR set, and the effective date — that is the entire application.
The application collects no credit information, so most bonds issue as soon as you pay. Larger amounts may get a quick review.
Submit the executed bond with your special fuel transporter license application. Wet-ink originals mailed whenever the state insists.
Indiana taxes diesel and other special fuels under IC 6-6-2.5. A transporter is a licensed carrier that hauls special fuel by truck, rail, or barge into, out of, or across the state. Transporters do not usually owe the fuel tax themselves, but they must be licensed and report the movements they make so the state can trace fuel through the chain.
Under IC 6-6-2.5-44, the commissioner can require a transporter to post a bond no less than $2,000 and no more than the estimated two-month tax liability, conditioned on accurate records and complete reports of the fuel transported. Because transporters rarely hold tax liability, this bond is often at or near the $2,000 floor.
The bond backs the transporter's reporting and any tax obligation tied to the license: if records or reports fall short, the state can recover against it, and if the surety pays, you repay the surety. The premium is priced at 1% of the bond amount, with a $100 minimum; the application collects no credit information, and most applicants approve instantly.
Submit the application with the bond amount the Department of Revenue set — the executed bond is generated instantly, ready to file.
