The City of Prairie du Chien is requesting proposals from qualified assessment firms (hereafter referred to as “Assessor”) to provide assessment services for the City of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin (hereafter referred to as “City”) for assessment years 2027, 2028, and 2029, beginning no later than January 1, 2027. The assessment firm must be able to provide one qualified individual to act in the capacity of Statutory Assessor for the City of Prairie du Chien.
The Assessor will perform all work required to assess real and personal property in accordance with Wisconsin State Statutes, including field review and assessment of new construction and partially constructed properties, interior inspections, processing parcel subdivisions, maintaining assessment records, conducting Open Book sessions, attending Board of Review meetings, and providing a public access site for taxpayers. The Assessor will also provide a local or toll-free phone number and hold office hours in Prairie du Chien one day every two weeks.
