The State University of New York at Albany will receive sealed bids for project number P-1589-1 titled Indigenous U-Lounge Renovation until 11:00 AM local time on Friday, August 21, 2026 at Univesity at Albany, Service Building "A", 1400 Washington Ave., Albany NY 12222 SBA 103, where such proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Renovate existing U-Lounge / Mohawk Fitness Center to accommodate relocation of Broadway Fitness
Center as part of the PE Enabling projects.
All work on this Contract is to be Fully Completed by Friday, January 29, 2027, commencing the date of approval by the New York State Comptroller.

A pre-bid walkthrough is scheduled for Wednesday, August 5, 2026 11:00 AM, with interested parties meeting at the Uptown Campus, SBA 103 to preview the bid set, and then commence on a tour of the Uptown Campus scope of work. This is not mandatory, but it is highly recommended that anyone truly interested in this job attends a site visit.

Bids must be submitted in duplicate in accordance with the instructions contained in the Information for Bidders. Security will be required for each bid in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the Total Bid. All work shall be in accordance with construction drawings and specifications. Contractor must be able to secure a performance bond for the full amount of their bid and should be prepared to anticipate a value in excess of $300,000.00 for this project. Please note that this project is exempt from the Wicks Law.
It is the policy of the State of New York and the State University of New York to encourage minority business enterprise participation in this project by contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, and all bidders are expected to cooperate in implementing this policy.
