The New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University is soliciting bids for an electric dewax kiln for ceramic shell which is at the heart of the cast metal process and will serve as an integral piece of equipment for our foundry at the Cohen National Casting Center.
The Cohen National Casting Center Foundry marks a significant step forward in our commitment to advancing the School of Engineering and School of Art & Design through metal arts education, technology, and collaborative opportunities. The new Foundry will serve as a hub for students, faculty, staff, and artists to push the boundaries of research, creative expression and material exploration.

All Questions must be submitted through the Bidnet platform by and arrive no later than the time and date indicated on the Summary Information Form, Page 1. Vendor identifying information will not be included in the response, as they will be sent out to all IFB participants as addendums to the IFB. All questions must be submitted in writing, citing the particular IFB page, section, and paragraph numbers where applicable. Only answers received as addendums through the Bidnet system are official.

The bidder must supply an electric dewax kiln with an exterior footprint not exceeding 5'w x 6'd x 15'h, interior dimensions minimum 23"x29"x39" but no larger than 42"x42"x42", capable of eliminating a minimum of 17 liters (32#) of wax, operating within existing electrical capacity of 200 amps, 208-volt, 3-phase, with a capture hood, touch operation controller, capable of temperatures from room temperature up to 1562°F/850°C, and must include installation and onsite training for up to 4 people, with a minimum 1 year warranty.
