Chatham County is seeking a qualified consulting firm with proven experience in the design of pavement and drainage improvements to provide professional engineering services for Wahlstrom Road and Forbes Road. The purpose of this project is to address existing drainage concerns and improve the overall condition of the roadway. The roadway also serves regular passenger vehicles as well as a significant number of heavy trucks. The existing pavement structure should be evaluated, and recommendations provided for resurfacing and any necessary structural improvements to better support current traffic demands and extend the service life of the roadway. The selected firm shall evaluate the existing conditions and develop recommendations to improve pavement and drainage performance.

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
This is an invitation to submit a proposal to supply Chatham County with services as indicated
herein. Proposals shall be submitted on-line on the County’s procurement portal
https://chathamcountyga.bonfirehub.com/portal up to 5:00 P.M., SEPTEMBER 8, 2026. The
Purchasing Director reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to waive formalities.
Instructions for preparation and submission of a qualification proposal are contained in the Request
for Proposal package. Please note that specific forms for submission of a proposal are required.
Any changes to the conditions and specifications must be in the form of a written addendum to be
valid; therefore, the Purchasing Director will issue a written addendum to document approved
changes.
A Virtual Pre-Proposal Conference has been scheduled for 10:00 A.M., August 20, 2026, and
will be via Webex to discuss the specifications and resolve any questions and/or misunderstanding
that may arise. You are encouraged to attend.
The selected firm shall evaluate existing pavement and drainage conditions, develop recommendations for resurfacing and structural improvements, perform field survey, develop preliminary and final construction plans in accordance with GDOT standards, conduct SUE investigation, coordinate with utility companies, perform pavement and soils evaluations, host stakeholder meetings, provide project management, and ensure MS4 compliance. The project duration is twelve months.
