SECTION 001116 - INVITATION TO BID
Sealed bids will be received from bidders by the Gwinnett County Board of Education at 53
Gwinnett Drive, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30046 in the Conference Room of Building “C”
until 3:00 PM, SEPTEMBER 10th, 2026 for construction of the following:
SWEETWATER MIDDLE SCHOOL HVAC MODIFICATIONS-
BUILDINGS 4011 & 4013

Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Interested parties are invited to attend. Fax
transmittals and emails of Bid Proposal Forms will not be accepted by the Owner. No proposal
will be accepted after time is called. No phone will be available.

Applications for bidding documents shall be filed promptly with the Architects. Approved bidders
may obtain bidding documents electronically free of charge through the Architect.
A copy of the bidding documents (drawings and project manual) shall be available for review at
the office of the Architect, at the Owner’s office, and at Construct Connect.
Contract, if awarded, will be on a stipulated sum basis for the project listed above. No bids may
be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after date of opening. Bids must be accompanied by
a bid bond payable to GWINNETT COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION, in the amount equal to
five percent (5%) of the base bid, (certified checks are NOT acceptable). Performance Bond, and
Labor and Material Payment Bond, each in amounts equal to 100% of the Contract Sum, will be
required of the successful bidder.
The project involves HVAC modifications to Buildings 4011 & 4013 at Sweetwater Middle School. The work must be substantially complete by July 23, 2027, with a start date of May 27, 2027. The contract will be on a stipulated sum basis. Subcontractors for Fire Proofing, Mechanical/HVAC, Plumbing, Sprinkler, Electrical, and Roofing will also be required to furnish payment and performance bonds.
