The training provider must instruct and certify City employees in Basic First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for Adults to the standards of the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, meeting or exceeding OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.151 and 29 CFR 1926.50. The program includes teaching methods, preparing to respond to health emergencies, assessing the scene and victim(s), responding to life-threatening and non-life-threatening emergencies, and recertification of current City instructors. The City also requires the ability to have overnight training for staff on 2nd or 3rd shifts.
