The contractor shall complete foliar herbicide application to approximately 375 acres across multiple treatment areas on Chautauqua and Emiquon National Wildlife Refuges. Application will target aquatic primrose (Ludwigia peploides) on Chautauqua NWR, which may be in water exceeding 2 feet in depth, and trees (primarily willow, cottonwood, and silver maple) along levees and within unit interiors. Treatment must consist of an aquatic glyphosate and surfactant applied during proper environmental conditions per label. The goal is to remove invasive trees for levee protection and promote early successional moist soil vegetation growth.
