The Government reserves the right to cancel this solicitation, either before or after the closing date. In the event the Government cancels this solicitation, the Government has no obligation to reimburse an offeror for any costs.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Acquisition Management Division (AMD), Team E-Boulder has a requirement for a Optical Access Dilution Refrigerator per the attached Combined Synopsis/Solicitation and Requirements and Specifications.
The contractor must deliver a cryogen-free dilution refrigerator system capable of cooling below 15 mK, with a pulse tube cooler (>1.3 W at 4.2 K), free-space optical access, a vector magnet (Option A), and specified wiring including 5 input and 2 output 18 GHz coaxial lines, 24 DC wires, and wiring for two HEMT amplifiers. The system must include all thermometry, pumps, heaters, software for automated operation, and a water-cooled compressor with 5 m flexible lines. The experimental volume must be >250 mm height and >125 mm diameter on a gold-plated OFHC copper plate. The system must be a new, established commercial product with manufacturer testing before shipping.
