The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Defense Sciences Office (DSO) is issuing a Disruption Opportunity (DO), inviting submissions of innovative basic or applied research concepts in the technical domain of accelerated materials testing and prediction for concrete. This DO is issued under the Program Announcement for Disruptioneering, DARPA-PA-25-07 Amendment 1. All awards will be made in the form of an “Disruptioneering – Other Transaction for Prototype Agreement SAMPLE” (DO OT Sample) project.
The total award value for the combined Phase 1 (base, not to exceed $1,000,000) and Phase 2 (option, not to exceed $1,000,000) is limited to $2,000,000. This total award value includes Government funding and performer cost share if required or proposed.
The Resilient program targets the creation of a Material Accelerator and a Scalability Model. The Material Accelerator is a physical, scalable testing platform that subjects concrete coupons to coupled, accelerated stressors to generate high-fidelity data. The Scalability Model is a physics-informed, multi-scale modeling framework that predicts how micro-scale damage evolves into macro-scale structural failure. Performers will design and fabricate a benchtop accelerator in Phase 1 and a transportable prototype in Phase 2, conduct iterative tests on concrete formulations, contribute historical degradation data to a federated database, and validate the model against real-world data. The system must be transportable using standard Light-Duty vehicles (GVWR 10,000 lbs or less).

One prequalification covers both — on this bid and the next.
A surety’s written statement that it expects to bond you up to a stated amount, subject to final underwriting. It’s what an agency asks to see before they take your bid seriously.
