Under Louisiana R.S. 9:4835, an interested party may deposit a bond or other security equal to 125% of the principal amount of a recorded claim or privilege with the recorder of mortgages to cancel the inscription. The bond is retained by the recorder as part of his records and is not itself recorded, and the filing party must give certified-mail notice to the owner, the holder of the claim, and the contractor.
