Bldg. 7 Temporary Fire Alarm System Installation (CTX)

The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision to furnish, install, program, and test a complete temporary fire alarm system serving Building 7. The temporary system shall provide continuous code-compliant fire detection, manual initiation, notification, and monitoring for all affected areas of Bldg. 7 while permanent fire alarm work is being performed or when the existing system is impaired. The system must be compatible with the existing Honeywell/Notifier campus infrastructure. All fire alarm panels, devices, and equipment shall be Notifier models or other equipment specifically approved in writing by the Government. The contractor must coordinate with VA COR/ACOR/PM two weeks prior to any proposed closures, outages, testing, or reduction of passable ingress/egress. The contractor shall build infectious controlling barriers according to ICRA requirements, perform field verification, design and submit temporary fire alarm plans, purchase and install temporary control equipment, integrate and transmit signals to the campus system, perform startup and programming by a licensed Notifier distributor, conduct pre-testing and final testing/commissioning, and finally remove temporary equipment and restore all disturbed surfaces. The period of performance is 45 days after award.
