This is an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for project 671-24-004 NRM Replace 2nd Floor Roof, located at South Texas Veterans Healthcare System (STVHCS) 7400 Merton Minter Blvd. San Antonio, Tx 78229.
The contractor shall completely prepare the site for building operations, including demolition and removal of the existing roof, and furnish labor and materials and perform work for replacement of the second floor roof as indicated in construction documents. The base bid includes demolition/removal of the existing roofing down to concrete deck in designated areas, installation of new roofing including vapor barrier, insulation and tapered insulation, built-up roof plies, cover board and cap sheet, and removal, storage and replacing of the existing lightning protection system including re-certification of the system. Alternate No. 1 covers the Penthouse Roof with similar work, and Alternate No. 2 covers replacement of existing roof curbs that are damaged, in poor condition, or height below minimum code requirements.
