Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC (herein “BSA”), operator of Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) under a Prime Contract with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), herewith invites you to participate in this Combined Request for Information and Synopsis, in accordance with the requirements outlined in the attached documents.
The vendor shall design, fabricate, test, and deliver a complete UHV-compatible hybrid pixel detector system for the Booster Polarimeter at BNL. The system must include a 300 µm thick silicon sensor, pixel pitch of 55 µm × 55 µm or smaller, active area of approximately 28 mm × 24 mm, simultaneous per-pixel Time-of-Arrival and Time-over-Threshold readout, support for external trigger and clock inputs, and a heatsink and metallic enclosure. The detector must be vacuum compatible to ≤ 5×10⁻⁹ mbar, use low-outgassing materials, be bakeable to 80°C, and include a ConFlat flange feedthrough (CF100 max, CF63 preferred). Deliverables include a vacuum/outgassing test report, final design approval, hardware delivery, site acceptance test, and documentation package.
