A/E RFQ - Ballistic Aero-Optics and Materials Range Phase 2 - Bryan, Texas

The project is an expansion of the Ballistic Aero-Optics and Materials Range completed in 2024. It aims to extend aero-optics capability beyond 1000m and hypersonic capability beyond 500m, with a recovery tube doubled from 305m to approximately 610m. A new Tail Building will be constructed at the south end to house the relocated Laser Firing Tank and final sections of the recovery tube. The existing Tail Building will remain as a storage and test building. The expanded range will include at least two additional test buildings aligned with test sections, designed with standardized component lengths including 14.6m long range tube sections and expansion/test sections spaced roughly 300' apart.
