The City of San Antonio is soliciting bids to furnish Crack Sealant, PolyFlex Type 3, in accordance with the specifications listed herein. This item is utilized by Public Works Department to repair street cracks in asphalt throughout the City.
The material shall be suitable for sealing 1/8 inch or larger width cracks in asphaltic concrete pavement, capable of being melted in a jacketed double boiler type melting kettle with agitation and recirculation system, and pressure pumped through a hose and nozzle system. The sealant must meet ASTM D5329, D36, D113, D2669, and D4 standards, and have specific physical properties including cone penetration 20-40 at 77°F, resilience 30% min at 77°F, ductility 30 cm min at 77°F, flexibility pass at 30°, flow 3 mm max at 140°F, bitumen content 60% min, asphalt compatibility pass, tensile adhesion 400% min, safe heating temperature 400°F, and recommend pour temperature 380°F. Material shall be packaged in boxes containing two 30-35 pound blocks individually wrapped in polyethylene liner, placed on pallets weighing approximately 2100 pounds each, covered with weatherproof covering. Delivery is FOB Destination to City of San Antonio Southeast Service Center, 1318 SE Loop 410, Building #7, San Antonio, Texas 78220, Monday-Thursday 7AM-6PM Central Time.
