The Texas Racing Commission (TXRC) is publishing this Request for Proposal (RFP) for Stewards in Training to perform Services (Class 958/81) within the State of Texas. TXRC intends to make an award of at least one (1) or more contracts. Individual Blanket contract will not exceed $75,000.00 per fiscal year.
Stewards in Training will provide services at Texas Racing Commission licensed horse racetracks, including Gillespie County Fair, Retama Race Park, Lone Star Park, and Sam Houston Race Park. Duties include actively engaging in live racing, conducting consultations with licensees, reviewing applications for licensees, and enforcing the Texas Racing Act and Commission rules. Work hours are defined as being actively engaged in these activities, and the contractor will work under the supervision of the Chief Steward.
