The City of San Antonio, Animal Care Services (ACS) Department is soliciting applications from partners to provide veterinary services at ACS Facilities. These services will include routine sterilization surgeries for pets of City of San Antonio residents and ACS pets, as well as non-routine sterilization surgeries, such as cryptorchid, pyometra, in-heat, gravid, and hernias. Additionally, veterinary partners will provide wellness services, such as pet examinations, vaccinations, microchipping, and minor medical care related to the surgery.
Contractors will perform spay/neuter surgeries (minimum 10 per shift, building to 20 or more), establish a Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship, perform physical exams, handle intra-operative complications, provide post-operative care and follow-up care, maintain medical records, and abide by licensing and credentialing requirements. They may also perform veterinary medicine duties such as medical examinations, vaccinations, microchipping, emergency surgeries, euthanasia, and other duties as designated by the City.
