MDOT-SW Region-Janitorial & Grounds services New Buffalo W/C
The contractor must provide all personnel, equipment, and supplies necessary to perform janitorial maintenance services at the New Buffalo Welcome Center, located at Mile Marker 1 Eastbound I-94. Services include daily primary cleaning and periodic checks of restrooms (men's, women's, and private), cleaning of lobby and entrance ways, literature stock rooms, employee kitchen, office areas, storage/utility areas, general grounds cleaning (litter pickup, cleaning benches, grills, cigarette receptacles), cleaning of plastic map and display cases, sidewalks, walkways, and plaza areas. Seasonal services include snow and ice removal and deicer application during winter, and additional grounds cleaning during the growing season. The contractor must also perform minor maintenance such as tightening loose screws and plunging toilets. The contractor must adhere to a specified work schedule (Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm, with no work on Tuesday and Wednesday) and provide additional coverage during Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day holiday periods. The contractor must submit monthly schedules, damage reports, accident reports, and time sheets, and attend kick-off, annual, quarterly, and other meetings as requested.
