The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (“SFPUC”) will be issuing a Request for Qualifications (“RFQ”) in search of candidates to prequalify for and then respond to a subsequent Request for Bids (“RFB”) for DB-131 Kansas and Marin Streets Wet Weather Conveyance Facility (the “Project”) pursuant to Administrative Code Subsection 6.61(b), “Competitive Bid Procurement.”
The SFPUC seeks to pre-qualify Applicants with demonstrated experience in design and construction of public utilities including 8-feet, inside diameter tunnels; sewer pipes; and underground concrete structures. Applicants must have experience in constructing projects that use an alternative delivery method. All design work must be performed under direction of, and signed and sealed by, professional engineers licensed by the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists. All construction work must be performed by entities licensed by the California Contractors State License Board (Class A).
The SFPUC will follow the evaluation process described in the forthcoming RFQ. The SFPUC will deem eligible the top four (4) prequalified Applicants to submit bids in response to the subsequent RFB. The SFPUC may require each prequalified Applicant to submit additional and separate technical qualification questionnaire(s) in the RFB issued for execution of the Project work. The requirements contained in this RFQ are subject to change; SFPUC would include any such changes in the RFB.
The project includes design and construction of an 8-foot inside diameter tunnel, sewer pipes, and underground concrete structures. The work must be performed using an alternative delivery method.
