The South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks is seeking the professional services of a production company to work as a collaborative partner in the development and production of a world-class short introductory film for Custer State Park. The RFP is to identify the most qualified entity to capture the vision of the project and carry out the objectives.
Offerors may email inquiries concerning this RFP to obtain clarification of requirements. No inquiries will be accepted after the date and time indicated in the Schedule of Activities. Inquiries must be emailed to Lydia Austin at Lydia.austin@state.sd.us with the subject line “RFP ##26RFP19872”.
The State will to respond to offeror’s inquiries (if required) via e-mail. In addition, all inquiries and the State’s response will be posted on the state’s e-procurement system. Offerors may not rely on any other statements, either of a written or oral nature, that alter any specification or other term or condition of this RFP. Offerors will be notified in the same manner as indicated above regarding any modifications to this RFP.

The selected offeror will be responsible for all aspects of the film's creation, including research and scriptwriting, high-resolution video capture and still photography, original audio capture and mixing, professional voice narrator, expert-level digital video editing, narration and/or on-screen talent, original or licensed music selection, and drone and motion equipment operations where permitted. Filming will occur on location within Custer State Park across multiple seasons. The film must be approximately 15–20 minutes, in 4K resolution (minimum) with 5.1 surround sound (minimum), exhibited in a 100-seat theater on a 20 x 50 foot screen, with a completion deadline of January 3, 2028.
