The New York City Department of Sanitation (the Department, or DSNY) is seeking (an) appropriately qualified Contractor(s) to conduct a comprehensive waste characterization study (Study) of New York City’s Department-managed municipal solid waste (MSW). Throughout this Request for Proposals (RFP), the term MSW will refer to refuse, paper, Metal, Glass, and Plastics (MGP), and organics generated by residents, public (“institutional”) entities, and commercial establishments.
Estimated value: $3,800,000.00. Questions due: 8/6/2026. Contract term: 11/15/2026 – 1/14/2030
The contractor will analyze and describe all relevant characteristics of the municipal solid waste stream, including the breakdown of material categories such as refuse, paper, metal, glass, plastics, and organics, generated by residents, public entities, and commercial establishments.
