Subject: Invitation to Bid on Purchase Order Contract DM00537

Project Description: Replacement of Bridge 560087 Over California Creek on SR-1347 (Chandler Creek
Rd) in Madison County
The North Carolina Department of Transportation is requesting bids for the replacement of bridge 560087
over California Creek on SR-1347 (Chandler Creek Rd) in Madison County to be let at 2:00 PM on
Wednesday, October 21, 2026.
The availability date for this project is November 30, 2026.
The completion date for this project is February 2, 2028.
Bids for this project must be submitted electronically. Refer to the Instructions to Bidders in the
proposal for more information.
Firms that wish to perform work on Division Purchase Order Contracts as either the prime contractor or
as a subcontractor on the project must be prequalified for the type work they wish to perform. Firms that
wish to bid on these projects as the prime contractor must be prequalified prior to submitting your bid.
Firms that wish to perform as a subcontractor to the prime contractor must be prequalified prior to
beginning work on the project.
Any firm that wishes to bid as a prime contractor shall be prequalified as a Bidder or PO Prime

Replacement of Bridge 560087 over California Creek on SR-1347 including grading, drainage, paving and structure work over 0.048 miles, with temporary detours, bridge approach fills, traffic control with lane-closure restrictions, utility construction, erosion control and reforestation.
