Hello – Los Angeles County Public Works is seeking proposals for Floor Operated Overhead Crane Training. After reviewing the information contained in the attachment, please submit all items requested with the Request for Proposals (RFP) by email to RJara-Pinedo@dpw.lacounty.gov or by fax to (626) 282-8312 no later than Thursday, August 13, 2026. All bid proposals must be on company letterhead.

Proposals will be examined in accordance with the goals and objectives outlined in this RFP and will be evaluated to determine if training curriculum, manuals, approach, experience, and qualifications demonstrate that the Proposer is likely to meet or exceed expectations. - Bid Proposal and Quality/Depth of Training Content - Costs - Resumes showing Experience of Trainers, Trainers Qualifications and Experience Training Employees, and Trainers experiences. - Company information to include length of time in business of training and employee education and number of references specified in Section 7. - Responsiveness to each and every proposal requirement in this Bid Solicitation. Proposals failing to meet requirements or incomplete proposals may be deemed non-responsive and could be disqualified. - Presentation (top candidates may be asked to provide a demonstration of the training)
The vendor shall provide 6 hours of training (4 hours classroom and 2 hours practical hands-on) on floor operated overhead cranes. Classroom topics include regulations (ASME B30.2-2022, Cal/OSHA Title 8 CCRS 4884-5049), general requirements, pre-operation inspection, operation requirements, shutdown and secure procedures, and emergency procedures. Practical hands-on training includes conducting inspection of crane and rigging accessories, proper rigging and handling of a floor operated overhead crane, and a practical operating examination. Public Works will provide equipment, rigging accessories, load, and location for the practical portion. The vendor must supply training equipment based on Public Works standards and provide a Certificate of Completion to all participating employees. The vendor shall perform training services during Public Works' operating hours, Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
