The vendor shall furnish fully operated heavy equipment (with one operator, except light plants) in excellent mechanical working condition, including all maintenance, repairs, fuel, and lubrication. The equipment and operator will be under the supervision of the Transportation Cabinet. The vendor must be able to readily provide each piece of equipment on contract when requested, but is not required to own all pieces. The rental rate is paid only during actual use on the job, with a guaranteed minimum of eight hours per work order. The scope includes routine work with a response time subject to 1% per day damages for late delivery, and emergency work requiring a 48-hour response time with a $750.00 emergency mobilization cost per piece of equipment delivered within 24 hours. The vendor must provide at least two 24-hour emergency contact phone numbers. The contract covers 33 line items including track excavators, long-reach excavators, hammer/hoe ram/breakers, tree mulching attachments, dump trucks, articulated trucks, small and large tractor crawlers, light plants, skid steers, cold planers, road widener attachments, vibratory rollers, milling machines, wheel loaders, flaggers, motor graders, escort trucks, tree trimmers, vibratory rippers, compact excavators, large excavators, hydraulic breaker attachments, a 55-ton truck-mounted hydraulic crane, and a self-propelled road widener. The vendor must include the manufacturer and model number for each piece of equipment bid.
