The vendor shall furnish fully operated equipment (with one operator, except light plants) in excellent mechanical working condition, including all maintenance, repairs, fuel, and lubrication. The equipment is rented only during actual use on the job, with a guaranteed minimum of 8 hours per work order. The vendor must be able to readily provide each piece of equipment on contract when requested, but is not required to own all pieces. The equipment and operator are under the supervision of the Transportation Cabinet. For routine work, the vendor guarantees a response time; failure results in a 1% per day deduction. For emergency work, the vendor must begin work within 48 hours of notification, with a $750 emergency mobilization cost per piece delivered within 24 hours, and failure results in $1,000 per day deduction. The contract covers 33 line items including excavators (track, long reach, large), hammers/breakers, tree mulching attachments (small and medium), dump trucks, articulated trucks, crawler tractors (small and large), light plants, skid steers, cold planers (24 and 40 inch), road widener attachments, vibratory rollers, milling machines, wheel loaders, flaggers, mowing attachments, ram hoe attachments, motor graders, escort trucks, tree trimmers, vibratory rippers, hydraulic breakers, hydraulic cranes (55 ton), self-propelled road wideners, and additional excavator and breaker items.
