The scope of this AMI project includes the City of Irving water distribution system metering infrastructure. The City is soliciting proposals from qualified manufacturers and distributors for a comprehensive, integrated, and fully supported AMI solution. Respondents are required to address compatibility and integration with existing City Customer Information Systems (CIS) and related platforms as outlined in this RFP. The successful contractor must provide robust project management support for installation, deployment, and implementation, and must clearly describe all services and associated costs.
The City expects the proposed AMI communications infrastructure to provide a flexible and scalable foundation for automated metering, advanced distribution system monitoring, and future smart city applications. Proposers must offer state-of-the-art hardware and software, with the latest available technologies at the time of delivery. The City is especially interested in a range of fixed network options, including the use of cellular connectivity for endpoints.
