Preliminary Engineering and Design Services for SR 60 BU from School Drive to Mountain View Drive
I. General Project Information
A. Overview
The City of Dahlonega is soliciting Statement of Qualifications (SOQs) from Georgia Department of Transportation
(GDOT) pre-qualified firm(s) or organization(s) to complete the preliminary engineering, environmental work, and
construction bidding through the development of Plans, Specifications and Estimates for SR 60 BU from School
Drive to Mountain View Drive GDOT PI 0021605. All work shall be in accordance with the current GDOT Plan
Development Process (PDP) and GDOT standards and specifications.
This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) seeks to identify potential providers for the Scope of Services for the
project/contract listed in Exhibit I. Firms that respond to this RFQ, and are determined by the City of Dahlonega to
be sufficiently qualified, may be deemed eligible, and invited to offer a technical approach and/or possibly present
and/or interview for these services. All respondents to this RFQ are subject to instructions communicated in this
document, and are cautioned to completely review the entire RFQ and follow instructions carefully. The City of
Dahlonega reserves the right to reject any or all Statements of Qualifications or Technical Approach, and to waive
technicalities and informalities at the discretion of the City of Dahlonega.
B. IMPORTANT- A RESTRICTION OF COMMUNICATION
The selected consultant will provide Preliminary Engineering and Design Services in accordance with the GDOT Plan Development Process (PDP). The scope includes administration (kick-off meeting, design variance documentation, Preliminary Field Plan Review, cost estimates, utility coordination, permits), Right-of-Way activities (ROW plans, pre-acquisition including title certificates and property owner meetings, acquisition including appraisals and negotiations), Final Design (Final Field Plan Review package and inspection), and preparation of a Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E) package including construction bid advertisement. The work also covers traffic analysis, environmental studies (history, ecology, archaeology, aquatic surveys, bat surveys), survey, utility engineering, soil studies, bridge foundation studies, and erosion control planning.
