The projects include replacement or modernization of existing fire alarm systems at active correctional facilities. Design services shall include new addressable fire alarm control panels, initiation devices, notification appliances, auxiliary power supplies, emergency power circuits, sprinkler monitoring connections, flow and tamper switches, HVAC shutdown interfaces, gas valve shutoff connections, shunt trip coordination, and graphical monitoring at central/master control. The design shall account for prison-specific conditions including occupied secure areas, inmate movement restrictions, escorted contractor access, phased installation, limited shutdown windows, hardened/tamper-resistant equipment, secure cabling routes, coordination with security electronics, and maintaining life safety coverage during construction. Services shall include schematic design, design development, construction documents, permitting support, shop drawing review, field observations, construction administration, punch list support, acceptance testing assistance, and closeout review.
