Work includes replacing the southern exterior staircase of JFHQ, which is deteriorating with spaulding and cracking concrete, displaced masonry blocks, rusting handrails, and degraded under-rail lighting. The contractor shall furnish all material, labor, tools, and equipment to replace the designated concrete stairway, including both landings, all 14 cast-in-place concrete steps, and any damaged or missing concrete unit pavers. The contractor shall remove and reinstall prefabricated brushed stainless steel handrails with integrated LED lights, including minor restoration and rust removal. Site preparation includes utilizing existing compacted stone sub-grade, improving it where necessary, installing new steel edging along the western perimeter, and evaluating and implementing drainage measures. All newly poured concrete must meet class A (4000 psi) with colored additive to match existing color and a broom finish. The contractor must also perform a final cleaning, restore disturbed areas, and deliver a 1-year warranty on craftsmanship and materials, product data sheets, and attic stock including extra pavers.
