The Mass Tech Collaborative Massachusetts Manufacturing Innovation Initiative (M2I2) provides state grant funding to help Massachusetts innovators who are ready to begin manufacturing their hard-tech products. There will be one FY27 application round: Concept Paper Deadline- Monday, July 27, 2026. Full Application Deadline (if chosen)- Monday, Aug. 17, 2026

Grants are available for capital purchases including equipment, development of new technology platforms or systems and related capital costs only. All capital expenditures must be accounted for as capital expenditure under GAAP and installed within Massachusetts. A minimum 1:1 cost match from non-state dollars is required. Projects must demonstrate clear benefit for the economy of the Commonwealth and be evaluated on technical innovation, project feasibility, job impact on Massachusetts, market impact, community benefit, budget soundness, and diversity, equity, & inclusion. Reporting is required at least annually for every year the project is active and for one year after completion, plus one public presentation.
