The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and services required to remove the existing failed retaining wall system, legally dispose of demolished materials, protect adjacent features, excavate for the new wall, install a new engineered segmental concrete retaining wall system (or approved equivalent) including blocks, caps, connectors, geogrid reinforcement, drainage materials (clean drainage stone, filter fabric, perforated drainage pipe), and proper backfilling and compaction. The Contractor must also restore disturbed pavement edges, roadway shoulders, grades, and adjacent areas, and leave the site in a clean, safe, and finished condition. The Contractor shall retain a Professional Engineer registered in Massachusetts to prepare and stamp design calculations and construction drawings addressing wall stability, roadway surcharge loading, foundation preparation, geogrid reinforcement, drainage design, backfill materials, and frost protection. The Contractor shall provide a minimum one-year workmanship warranty and manufacturer warranty documentation.
