Professional Engineering Services is needed to refine the system-wide sanitary and combined sewer collection system model, perform model applications including capacity evaluation and sewer system operations, flow monitoring with data management/analysis, provide support to Blueprint Columbus / 2015 Integrated Plan and Wet Weather Management Plan Update. This project will continue development of the City's Sewer System Capacity Model (SSCM). SSCM plays a vital role in evaluating capacity deficiencies and devising economical solutions to those deficiencies.
This project is necessary to ensure continued compliance with Ohio EPA SSO and CSO Consent Orders and to continue the City's commitment to eliminating sanitary sewer overflows (SSO's) and minimizing Water-in-Basement occurrences (WIB's). It is anticipated that this project will update the current SSCM with the most current collection system configuration; upgrade portions of its method of calculation to increase its accuracy; enhance its usability and operations; and apply the SSCM Update to new development, performance, and operational conditions.
