Center for Behavioral Health and Wellness (CBHW) at the BPHC leads this pilot project. The Center for Behavioral Health and Wellness was established in 2022 in response to the growing need for evidence based, effective, and meaningful behavioral health resources. The Center aims to promote and coordinate behavioral health and wellness programming across Boston. The Center envisions a community where all can achieve their ideal behavioral health and wellness, through just, trauma informed, and intersectional approaches.

The selected vendor will implement a community-led mental health crisis response pilot program as designed by BPHC, providing culturally aligned, non-carceral, consent-based, and racially just crisis response services. The pilot will serve one Boston neighborhood and aims to demonstrate a safe, culturally responsive alternative to traditional emergency systems, reducing reliance on law enforcement. The vendor must deliver the program as designed, not create a new program from scratch, and will contract with BPHC to implement the pilot on behalf of the City.
