Elgin Mental Health Center is seeking a vendor to provide comprehensive laundry services for the Facility. The awarded vendor will be responsible for ensuring the timely, hygienic, and efficient laundering of all designated items, including but not limited to linens, uniforms, towels, and other washable materials used within the facility located at 750 South State St., Elgin, Il 60123
Pre-Bid Conference: A mandatory pre-bid meeting will take place on 10/6, 2026 at 10am located at FTP Building, 750 South State St., Elgin, Il. Bidding vendor must attend. Sub-Contractors may attend along with bidding vendor but cannot sign in for bidding vendor.
The awarded vendor shall furnish all necessary labor, equipment, and supplies to meet the Facility's laundry service needs. The vendor must possess at least five years of experience providing laundry services for an institutional setting and must provide documentation of industrial-scale capabilities. The vendor will be responsible for the pickup, laundering, and delivery of all designated items, including bed linens, bedspreads, thermal blankets, washcloths, bath towels, kitchen towels, potholders, aprons, mops, cleaning cloths, rugs, drapes, gowns, pajamas, and scuffies. The vendor must sort, wash, and process all laundry in accordance with CDC guidelines, including thermal disinfection at a wash temperature of at least 160°F (71°C) for a minimum of 25 minutes, or chemical disinfection with equivalent microbial kill. The vendor must supply and maintain linen carts, weigh each cart at the facility's weighing station, and deliver clean linen and retrieve soiled linen at designated locations across the campus. The vendor must also provide documentation of formulas, temperatures, titration tests, and Material Safety Data Sheets, and must handle re-wash items and severely soiled items according to specified procedures.
