Through this CSO, the Army aims to identify and adopt innovative commercial solutions that accelerate the integration of advanced manufacturing technologies, enable secure and connected digital environments, and promote sustainable practices. The goal is to create a more agile, resilient, and technologically advanced industrial base that meets current and future operational demands while ensuring compliance with DoD standards for cybersecurity, sustainability, and readiness.
The CSO seeks solutions under five topics: Technology Integration (additive manufacturing, robotics, AI-driven process optimization), Digital Transformation (IoT, digital twins, advanced analytics with DoD cybersecurity compliance), Workforce Development (training programs, AR/VR, competency-based certification), Supply Chain Resilience (real-time monitoring, predictive analytics, supplier collaboration), and Sustainability (energy-efficient processes, waste reduction, lifecycle analysis). Solutions must be commercially available and mature enough to assess viability within Army manufacturing operations. The process has up to three phases: Phase I (PowerPoint and White Paper), Phase II (Pitch Session), and Phase III (Technical, Price, and SOW Proposal). Awards may be FAR-based contracts or OTAs.
