This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Part 12. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotations are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued.
Solicitation number 1240LT26Q0158 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the San Juan Cattle Guard Replacement. The cattle guards are located within the San Juan National Forests and the intent of this project is replace structurally obsolete cattle guards across the forest. The Contractor will be responsible for purchasing and installing cattle guard bases, running surfaces and
wings as well as disposing of the removed material off of federal land. Refer to SOW and applicable specifications for full details.
No site visit is scheduled. The locations are listed in the attachments herein and are open to the public

The contractor will replace structurally obsolete cattle guards across the San Juan National Forest. Work includes purchasing and installing concrete cattle guard bases and steel running surfaces, disposing of old concrete bases and posts off federal land, providing bedding material and approach aggregate, performing minor fence work to tie range allotments into wings, and managing traffic control with delays not exceeding ½ hour. The base bid covers seven cattle guards; an optional bid item covers an additional two. Cattle guards shall be purchased from Big R manufacturing, ABC Concrete or approved equal, with a standard length of 7'-9". All wooden posts on the sides of cattle guards will be replaced with 6" steel posts. Work hours are between 7:00 a.m. Monday to 7:00 p.m. Friday, excluding federal holidays.
