Surgical Instrument Repair and Maintenance

The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and transportation necessary for a Surgical Instrument Maintenance Program (SIMP). Services include on-site and off-site repair, inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of all types of surgical instrumentation regardless of manufacturer, including dental instruments. The contractor must complete 90% of repairs on the same day on-site, offer on-site visits at a minimum of 4 days per month in Miami and West Palm Beach and 1 day per month in Broward, and service between twelve to thirteen trays per on-site visit. The contractor must also provide an electronic dashboard with maintenance/repair history, written service reports with pictures, on-site education and training for staff, and track frequency of repair to report trends. The contractor must be able to service 75% of all inventory within the first 90 days and provide documentation of quality assurance per VHA Directive 1116.
