The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, containers/bins, trucks, fuel and insurance to collect, transport and dispose of scrap and miscellaneous metal from two 40-foot bins located at the VA Long Beach Healthcare System. The contractor will replace full bins with empty bins on an as-needed basis (approximately once per month), with up to twenty pickups per bin per contract period. Pickups must occur within two working days of notification by the POC, between 7:00am and 1:00pm. Scrap metal shall be disposed of at a permitted facility under California Integrated Waste Management Board guidelines. The contractor must provide weight tickets, disposal receipts, and payment for recycled materials to the POC within 3 business days after pick-up. Contractor-owned containers must be kept in neat appearance and replaced within seven business days if damaged. The contractor must also furnish an insurance certificate and proof of guaranteed available disposal privileges.
