The purpose of this amendment is to extend the deadline for submission of proposals. The solicitation is extended as the VA is preparing the responses for a large number of Requests for Information (RFI).
The new submission date is 1:00 PM Thursday, October 15, 2026.
Building 6, Passenger Elevator P1: Furnish and install new non-proprietary microprocessor-based solid state selective collective control system with associated drive, geared machine with rope gripper, car operating panel with push buttons and emergency features, hall fixtures with up/down buttons at intermediate landings, new shaft wiring in conduit, new car door operator (non-proprietary heavy-duty), car interior upgrade, leveling system, traveling cable with shielded communication pair and coaxial cable for future camera, counterweight guide assemblies, hoistway switches, car guide assemblies, top of car inspection station, and car interior. Building 53, Service Elevator S1: Furnish and install new non-proprietary collective control system, car operating panel, hall fixtures, shaft wiring as necessary, new car door operator, new non-proprietary hydraulic power unit including oil, valve, pump and motor, and new cab interior. Building 53, Passenger Elevators P1 and P2: Furnish and install new microprocessor-based solid state selective collective control system with associated drive, geared machine with rope gripper and secondary brake, car operating panel, hall fixtures, shaft wiring, new car door operator, new cab interior, leveling system, traveling cable with communication pair and coaxial cable, counterweight guide assemblies, hoistway switches, car guide assemblies, and top of car inspection station. All new parts must be non-proprietary and universally serviceable. Contractor shall provide maintenance and 24/7 emergency service during project period, with each elevator shut-down not to exceed 13 weeks. Contractor must comply with VA Elevator design manual 2023, NFPA codes (70, 13, 72, 101 at 2023-2025 versions), IBC 2024, and ASME standards. Third-party commissioning required for testing, certification and documentation of compliance. Contractor must submit cut sheets and specifications for VA review and approval prior to installation.
