The USCG intends to procure on a brand name basis Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) rudder seal service kits (“A” and “B”) used to support the 154’ WPC Coast Guard cutters.
The rudder seal assemblies and associated service kits are part of the vessel steering system and keep sea water from entering the vessel where the rudder stocks protrude through the hull. The rudder seal assemblies are complete units installed when there is a complete failure of a rudder seal. The service kits (A&B) are used to replace wear components of the installed rudder seals during vessel dry docking.

The contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, material, services, equipment, supplies, power, accessories, facilities and such other things as are necessary to provide genuine OEM rudder seal service kits and stuffing box/bearing assemblies. Items include 11 Rudder Seal Service Kit 'B', 19 Rudder Seal Service Kit 'A', and 10 Stuffing Box and Bearing, Rudder. All items must be individually preserved, packaged, packed, marked, and bar-coded per MIL-STD-2073, MIL-STD-129R, and Attachment 2. Delivery is F.O.B. destination to the USCG Surface Forces Logistics Center in Baltimore, MD within 120 calendar days after contract award. 100% quality assurance inspection will be held at the vendor's facility.
